Development of a Radiometric Calibration Method for Multispectral Images of Croplands Obtained with a Remote-Controlled Aerial System

A remote sensing (RS) platform consisting of a remote-controlled aerial vehicle (RAV) can be used to monitor crop, environmental conditions, and productivity in agricultural areas. However, the current methods for calibration RAV-acquired images are cumbersome. Thus, method must incorporated into RAV RS systems practical advanced applications. Here, we aimed develop standalone RS-based system without need tarpaulins (tarps) by quantifying sensor responses multispectral camera, which varies with light intensities. To RAV-based system, quadcopter four propellers, rotor-to-rotor length 46 cm height 25 cm. The equipped camera green, red, near-infrared filters was acquire spectral formulating standardization system. perform study process, libraries were constructed using pseudo-invariant tarps according intensities determine relationship equations between two factors. calibrated then validated reflectance measured crop fields. Finally, evaluated outcomes formulated results this suggest that would helpful processing RS-acquired images.
